The Cyber Essentials PLUS certification required an independent evaluation of security controls to ensure that the required technical security controls were successfully implemented. The UK Government created and supports the Cyber Essentials scheme, which focuses on the most frequent internet-based cyber security threats. In order to counteract common internet-borne cyber-attacks such as hacking, phishing, and password guessing, Cyber Essentials requires an organisation to have a variety of technical and operational controls in place.
